In order to make considerable and meaningful progress against insurgent groups in Afghanistan, the United States must craft a thoughtful policy and use all of its resources to maintain the support and cooperation of Afghan citizens. Military action can be useful in disrupting insurgent groups, but ultimately these efforts only provide a short-term solution to a long-term problem. — More

Va. Senate allows for side order of guns with every meal—bullets included

In a recent vote, the Virginia Senate approved a measure that allows concealed weapon permit holders to carry guns in restaurants that serve alcohol, as long as the weapon holder does not consume alcohol. Debate over the Second Amendment ignites passions from both sides of the political spectrum, but I will admit that this latest development (in a state where I lived for two years) has left me a bit bewildered. — More

For the second time this winter, the Washington, D.C., area is being hit with a massive snowstorm. Obviously winter weather is no joke—a significant snowfall can definitely wreak some havoc. This is especially true in places like the District of Columbia.
