			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>NYC OEM seeks an intern to assist the External Affairs division with redesigning the agency’s intranet and creating<br />
a number of print materials for the NYC Citizen Corps Council.  As OEM staff grows increasingly reliant on the<br />
agency intranet for forms, access to portals, and other frequently used resources, there is a need for a more user-friendly design. The web and graphic design intern will map out new information architecture for the site and<br />
execute a design solution.<br />

<p>The intern would research historical artwork, photographs, maps, and significant documents &#8211;  related to disaster, response, and preparedness in NYC &#8211; at the following institutions:    1) The Municipal Archives  2) The New York Public Library  3) The New York Historical Society  4) Other historical repositories including educational institutions  5) Online sources    The intern will accurately describe pertinent items encountered in the research process and  document their provenance.    The intern will prepare a summary document which describes the results of the research  process and recommends promising courses for subsequent research.    The intern would be expected to work approximately fifteen hours per week.</p>
