    The World Health Organization has released the third edition of the State of the World’s Vaccines and Immunization Oct. 21. It reports the 21st century has been productive in the history of vaccines, with a record number of infants vaccinated in 2008, as well as a reduction and prevention of deaths caused by diseases such as tuberculosis and polio.
